Rangoli’s got rhythm. Commissioned by Apple, with How Are You Feeling Studio

Spreading the Diwali cheer globally was serious business. Read on to see how we created the viral reel that got 239 million views, 1.7 million likes and 4500 comments, one of the most celebrated pieces of content on Apple’s Instagram page.

As dream collaborations go, this one’s right at the top.

Along with How Are You Feeling Studio, we imagined rangoli in motion for Apple. To share the festive joy with their nearly 37 million Instagram followers globally.

Diwali is a time for gratitude, gathering and celebrations. In India, rangoli made from coloured powder, flower petals or grain is more than decoration; it is an offering. It is beauty as an act of care and service.

To recreate this, Himanshu Lakhwani and Shreyansh Rajpal worked with Doyel and Neil of How Are You Feeling Studio tirelessly across a month to capture the perfect 30 seconds on iPhone 17. The most challenging part: shooting from a platform 50-feet high, across a 24-hour shift on set.

We worked with 30 dancers, lantern cyclewalahs and phoolwalahs to reimagine rangoli in motion. To capture this in the shoot, we used the new iPhone 17 Pro, including its 8x optical-quality zoom to not only capture intimate moments but also a wide frame shot from 45-feet above the ground. And you’re right, the view from the top was UNREAL.

A project of this scale could not have been possible without the most brilliant team.
