A design interpretation of Rajasthan’s impressionable doors
Curated by Founder and Creative Director, Himanshu Lakhwani, The Geometry of Doors of Rajasthan is a collectible book with photographs of the Indian state’s unique doors and their design renditions.

Rajasthan’s architecture, art, and culture are a blend of the traditional art of its affluent rulers, tribal people, and Mughals. The skillsmen are the Suthar community, who are involved in producing these pieces of art, mainly woodwork.
From his many trips to Rajasthan, Himanshu compiled photographs of adorned, intricate, detailed doors of castles, havelis, homes, and more that are still standing as a testament to the rich history of the state’s art and craft. Being a photographer and a designer, he rendered this compilation into intricate blueprints of the geometric patterns carved on wooden surfaces.
“Ten years of many visits to various parts of Rajasthan to cities such as Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Jaipur and many more, I have put together is collection, and I started making these blueprints for this intricate and dying art form,” says Himanshu.
